European Masters in Lifelong Learning for Erasmus Mundus Program

Overview

Scholarization is very pleased to announce the European Masters in Lifelong Learning which is an elite programme aimed at professionals who wish to develop the field of lifelong learning and gain specialized expertise in lifelong learning policy or management. Lifelong Learning has become a predominant goal for international policy making, and is often advocated as a way to achieve socio-economic development and as a tool for promoting the 'knowledge-based' society.

The Master of Lifelong Learning is a trans-national programme, which means that students will visit at least two European countries during their studies

The Erasmus Mundus Masters Course is provided by three European universities:

The Danish School of Education, Aarhus University, Copenhagen, Denmark
Institute of Education, University of London, London, United Kingdom
University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain

This Erasmus Mundus consortium have pooled their expertise to provide an individually oriented perspective for the teaching and learning process, with a global approach and strong focus on quality of research.

European Master in Lifelong Learning offers double or multiple degrees, depending on the mobility path, leading to:

- MA (Ed.) in Educational Sociology
- European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management
- Máster Universitario Europeo en Aprendizaje a lo largo de la vida: Politicas y Gestion.

Recognition

the European Commission has approved the programme and provided it with the Erasmus Mundus label


Entry requirements

Admission may be granted to applicants who meet the following criteria:

- A Bachelors or Masters degree with good marks from a recognised institution of higher education.
- A high level of spoken and written English: IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 650 (written paper test) / 280 (computer based test) / 100 (internet based test) is mandatory. Previous experience with English at any level is not sufficient documentation.

Guidelines

Your application must include the following documents:

Application form

- Certified copies of academics transcripts (translated into English)
EUROPASS CV
- English language proficiency test certificate
- An academic qualification essay based on research literature on any aspect of lifelong learning
- Three passport-size photographs (in an envelope)
- Three recommendation letters from former supervisors of which two must be academics.

A scholarship amounts to a maximum of €20,000 for two academic years. Tuition fee amounts to a maximum of €7.000.


IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION:

Please note that as of the academic year 2008/2009 the number of applications by third country students must be limited to three Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses maximum.

In the eventual case that a student applies to more than three EM Courses he/she will be excluded from the selection for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

In addition, only individuals who have not previously benefitted from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship are eligible to apply. Applicants are asked to sign a declaration confirming that they have not previously received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship in the Scholarship Application Form.

Scholarships - third-country visiting scholars

The Erasmus Mundus programme provides scholarships for visiting scholars staying at MA LLL universities for a period between 4 weeks - 12 weeks.
The weekly living allowance including travel costs is 1.200 EUR.

Deadline

Due to recent changes in the regulations regarding visting scholars the deadline for applying for a visiting scholarship has been postponed.

The new deadline for third-country scholars is 1 April 2010.
