We are pleased to let you know that the fourth Summer Institute on Alcohol, Drugs and Addiction will be held at the Graduate School of Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam from July 4 - 16, 2010.
The renewed Summer Institute is a joint initiative of ZonMw, The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development, and the Graduate School of Social Sciences.
The Summer Institute offers graduate students of various disciplines and professionals a great opportunity to advance their knowledge in the field of addiction studies in an international environment.
The Institute is an intensive two-week summer programme that seeks to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the study of addiction and to promote opportunities for international networking among participants.
Special attention will be paid to research and implementation. Other focuses will be on policy models, prevention, evidenced based treatment and their intersections.
Deadline for Applications is April 15, 2010
We expect a class of approximately 20-25 students. The Institute's classes are intensive seminars with discussions, excursions, faculty lectures and guest lectures by prominent people in the field. We will be able to provide CEUs for most counselors as well as course credits for students offered as a transcript through the University of Amsterdam.
Various scholarships are available for Summer Institute participants, such as Nuffic fellowships or ZonMw tuition waivers. More information on conditions and criteria, or check the application page.
