Overview
Earn a Master's Degree or PhD in the United States
The Fulbright Graduate Scholarship provides two years of fully-funded graduate level study in any academic field including the arts, humanities, business, finance, science, technology, education, and journalism. Scholars may study at the master's or doctoral level. Candidates may not study medicine.
The Grant Covers:
- Tuition and books
- Room and board
- Health insurance
- Ticket
Specific Requirements:
- Applicants must be Bahraini citizens and residing in Bahrain.
- Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree that is recognized by the Ministry of Education.
- Applicants must have demonstrated academic excellence through indicators such as grade point average (3.0), class rank (top 5%), and special awards.
- Applicants must be fluent in English and achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-and-pencil based test (if available).
- Research proposals that demonstrate a commitment to serving Bahraini society and/or Bahraini-American relations will be given preference.
- Eligible fields include, but are not limited to, the Arts and Humanities, Economics, Agriculture, Law, Political Science, Public Policy & Health, Sociology, Education, Environmental Studies, Journalism, and Communication.
Preference will be given to candidates who have not had extensive recent experience in the United States.
A candidate who has resided in the United States for five or more consecutive years in the six-year period preceding the date of application is ineligible for a grant.
Students already in the United States are ineligible for a grant.

Applications must be completed, typed, and delivered to the U.S. Embassy by April 29, 2010.
