Overview
Twenty prestigious scholarships are available to outstanding international students registering on research degrees within the Faculty of Engineering at The University of Nottingham from September 2011
The Award
• Ten full tuition fee scholarships worth up to £14,970 per year of study (based on 2011 fees)
• Ten full tutition fee scholarships with stipend for the most outstanding candidates only. Stipends are worth £700 per month
• Up to a maximum of three years
The high value of this award reflects the University's aim to attract the best students from around the world and to support them during their study
Research Opportunities
Students should be studying in one of the following research areas:
• Architecture & Urbanism
• Electrical Systems and Optics
• Energy and Sustainability
• Infrastructure and Geomatics
• Manufacturing
• Materials, Mechanics and Structures
• Process and Environmental Engineering
We particularly welcome applicants with interests related to the University Priority groups:
• Aerospace
• Energy
• Manufacturing (including Chemical Processing)

Conditions for the award
• Applicants must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on a full-time research degree programme at The University of Nottingham UK Campus from September 2011
• Applicants must be classified as an 'overseas' student for fees purposes. Applications should be made using the online application form at:
www.nottingham.ac.uk/internationaloffice/offer-holders/scholarships
• Candidates should have a first class degree or MSc with distinction (or International equivalent)
• Only applications received by the University by 11 March 2011 will be considered
• A decision on your application will be made by a panel of University staff and a member of staff from the University will contact you by email within four weeks of the closing date to confirm the outcome of your application
• If you are successful you will also receive a letter confirming the details of your scholarship. You must confirm your acceptance within four weeks of receiving the notification. Continuation of the award is subject to satisfactory progress
