Overview
The Vienna BioCenter is a campus of scientific excellence. Four world-class research institutes in the modern, fun city Vienna make up the VBC.
Research at the VBC covers a range of topics in modern biological sciences, including gene regulation, cell division, neural circuits, and evolutionary genomics. The VBC PhD programme supports its students in their scientific explorations, providing state-of-the-art equipment, expert scientific advisors, and extensive scientific and administrative support. The VBC PhD programme is the place for young researchers to put their creativity, ideas, and enthusiasm to work, addressing fundamental questions about how life works.
The Vienna Biocenter International PhD programme in Molecular Life Sciences is the longest running and most successful PhD programme at the Vienna Biocenter. Successful candidates in this programme have access to excellent facilities and an internationally competitive stipend.

But if you want to learn or improve your German, several language courses are offered on campus free of charge.
