The School of International Development is approved by the Economic and Social Research Council for receipt by postgraduate students of ESRC research studentships, based on evaluation of its postgraduate research programmes and the training offered in them. If you are considering full-time PhD study with us under a grant from the Economic and Social Research Council we invite you to bring your ideas to us to see if we can help you prepare your application.

Research in the School addresses contemporary challenges in developing and transition economies via disciplinary and multi/interdisciplinary approaches.
