Overview
As a result of our success in the latest national Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) we are offering two bursaries to support doctoral study in Politics, International Relations and Modern History. Bursaries will cover full-time tuition fees (Home/EU) and are tenable from 1 October 2010 for a period of three years.
Applications are invited in any sub-field of Politics or Modern History but those that reinforce the department's key research clusters in the areas of war and security, intelligence, political theory, comparative and international governance, transatlantic studies, and European and American politics and history are especially welcome.
The Department of Politics and History is a thriving, interdisciplinary Department in the School of Social Sciences, with a current full-time staff complement of 15 and 5 new colleagues joining us in spring/summer 2010. In the 2008 RAE 75% of our research was judged to be of international standard.
