Overview
The University of Edinburgh will offer eleven Master's scholarships for eligible distance learning Master's programmes offered by the University for students applying for study in the academic year 2010/2011.
Scholarships will be available for students pursuing distance learning programmes including the distance learning LLM programmes:
•LLM Innovation, Technology and the Law
•LLM Intellectual Property Law
•LLM Medical Law and Ethics
•LLM Information Technology Law
Each scholarship will have a total value of £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study.
Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission onto distance learning Master's programmes at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants must be both nationals of and resident in the following countries:
Afghanistan,Mauritania, Bangladesh ,Mongolia ,Benin ,Mozambique ,Burkina Faso ,Myanmar ,Burundi ,Nepal ,Cambodia ,Niger ,Central African Republic , Nigeria ,Chad ,Pakistan ,Comoros ,Papua New Guinea ,Congo, Dem Rep ,Rwanda ,Côte d'Ivoire ,São Tomé and Principe ,Eritrea ,Senegal ,Ethiopia ,Sierra Leone ,Gambia, The Solomon Islands ,Ghana , Somalia ,Guinea , Sudan ,Guinea Bissau ,Tajikistan ,Haiti ,Tanzania ,India ,Timor-Leste ,Kenya ,Togo ,Korea, Dem Rep ,Uganda ,Kyrgyz Republic , Uzbekistan ,Lao PDR ,Vietnam ,Liberia ,Yemen, Rep ,Madagascar, Zambia ,Malawi ,Zimbabwe .Mali
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.
