For Trinidad and Tobago: Mexican Government Scholarship

Overview

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago invites applications from suitably-qualified citizens of Trinidad and Tobago for scholarships offered by the Government of Mexico. The scholarships are for full-time postgraduate study at accredited Mexican institutions. Preference will be given to persons wishing to study in those areas that have been identified as critical to the development of Trinidad and Tobago.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST:

− be citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
− be residing in their country of citizenship, for at least two years prior to application
− have graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme within the last five (5) years preceding the year of application
− provide proof of acceptance into an accredited institution in Mexico or, until this becomes available, proof of application.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO:

All applicants must apply directly for acceptance at one of the accredited institutions in Mexico.


Master’s Degree

Applicants must:

− have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
− at least three (3) years working experience

Ph.D. Degree

Applicants must:

− have a very good result at the Master’s Degree level in a field similar to that of the Ph.D.
− at least three (3) years working experience N.B.
− Applicants interested in entering the Spanish Teacher Training Programme must have advanced knowledge of Spanish.

PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:

Applications must be made on the prescribed forms pertaining to Trinidad and Tobago Government Scholarships available at:

(i) Ministry of Public Administration Website: www.scholarships.gov.tt

Completed applications must be accompanied by all of the following documents:

(i) Curriculum Vitae
(ii) Plan of Study (only in instances of postgraduate study)
(iii) Copies of Academic Certificates, Degrees or Diplomas
(iv) Official Academic Transcripts
(v) Proof of acceptance from the University of Choice
(vi) Two (2) References (one must be an academic reference) which must include a telephone contact number for the Recommender (originals
only) - each envelope must be sealed and signed across the seal by the referee
(vii) Copy of Birth Certificate (with affidavit if necessary)
(viii) Copy of Proof of Change of Name (where necessary)
(ix) Copy of relevant biodata page from valid Trinidad and Tobago Passport. If this is not available, a copy of Electoral Identification Card
(back and front)
(x) Persons born outside of Trinidad and Tobago must provide evidence of citizenship (copy)

• All originals must be produced upon request. All Applicants must arrange for their transcripts and letters of reference to be sent directly to:

• All applicants who are Public Officers/Employees of Statutory Authorities must submit their applications through their Permanent Secretaries/Heads of Departments/Heads of Statutory Authorities. Public Officers/Employees of Statutory Authorities are asked to note that applications which do not reflect the comments/remarks of their Permanent Secretaries/Heads of Departments/ Statutory Authorities will not be considered for these scholarships.
• Persons residing abroad can submit completed application forms together with all required documents through the Diplomatic Mission in the country from which they are applying. Application forms together with all required documents must:
• be placed in an envelope and sealed
• be addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration (Scholarships and Advanced Training Division) at the above-mentioned address
• have the name of the Scholarship or Award for which you are applying clearly identified on the face of the envelope
• be mailed or delivered to the office of the Ministry of Public Administration or the TTConnect Service Centres at the above mentioned addresses.
