Erasmus Mundus (EMSHIP) Scholarships

Overview

The objective of the EMSHIP Erasmus Mundus Master is to provide a high education in Naval Architecture and Ship Design, through a 1.5 year - 90 Credits - Master Course accessible as Post Graduate studies, leading to a Double Master Degree from ULG-Liege, Belgium and ECN-Nantes, France) and a supplement diploma from Germany (Rostock), Italy (Genoa), Poland (Szczecin) or Romania (Galate).

EMSHIP corresponds directly to the needs of the European and Worldwide Marine Industry. The targeted candidates are:

Candidates having already a master degree in another engineering field that would like to get a specialisation in Ship Design.

- Active engineering officers with 3-5 years seafaring work experience, that are looking for new knowledge to better fulfil their carrier objectives. There is indeed a large demand from ship-owners and port authorities to hire such officers, knowing what on-board service is, to manage and maintain their fleet.

- Candidates looking for complementary education in the Sailing Pleasure Crafts and Mega/Motor Yachts, but also in Safer and Cleaner Marine and Fluvial Transportation Mode.

- Engineers searching for advanced education in Hydrodynamics in Ship Design, Ship Production, CAD, Information Technology and Ship Structures.

EMSHIP gives the opportunity to candidates to demonstrate their talents and offer them the necessary skills to work in this challenging industry.

Degree

At the end of the course, graduates are awarded with a double degree from ECN (France) and ULG-ANAST (Belgium), including a supplement diploma covering the Third semester in Galati, Rostock, Genova or Szczecin.

EUROPEAN COMMISSION SCHOLARSHIP

includes:

• Tuition fees.
• Transportation from home country to Belgium.
• Monthly allocation for living and housing.
• Insurances.

9 Scholarships for Non-European candidates.

1 Scholarship for Balkan Countries (Turkey, Croatia, ...) candidates.

That includes:

• Tuition fees(9000 € for cycle - 18 months).
• Health insurance 450€.
• Transportation from home country to Belgium. (8000€ - lump sum)
• Monthly allocation for living and housing (1000€/month, during 18 months).
• Insurances.

9 Scholarships for European candidates.

That includes:

• Tuition fees(4500 € for the cycle -18 months).
• Health insurance 450€.
• 500€ aid for travels.
• Monthly allocation for living and housing (500€/month, during 18 months).
• Insurances.

ALTERNATIVE SCHOLARSHIPS

are proposed to the excellent non selected candidates for EU scholarship

Industrial Scholarship

Industrial Scholarship is provided by Emship industrial partners - shipyards, ship designers, classification societies, manufacturers, ship-owners, operators, etc…

Scholarship amount:	700 €/month during 18 months. (without health insurance (*))
Travel cost:	1000 € (once)
Scholarship number:	3 students per cycle (to be confirmed)
Application procedure:	Only students having applied to the ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIP (see Section 1 above) are relevant candidates.
Conditions:	By accepting this scholarship, the student agrees to work during 2 years for this company.
Liege university Scholarship
For EU Student
Scholarship amount:	400 €/month during 18 months.
Travel cost:	One round trip ticket per year between Belgium and the student's country of origin, (maximum: 300 € for neighbor countries, United Kingdom and Spain, and 600 € for other countries.)
Enrolment fees:	Not included but with a reduced rate to 1200€ (the EMSHIP health insurance is not included (*))
For Non EU Student
Scholarship amount:	750 €/month during 18 months.
Travel cost:	one round trip ticket per year between Belgium and the student's country of origin (max. 2000 €)
Enrolment fees:	50% of the 1200€ reduced rate(the EMSHIP health insurance is not included (*))
Total Scholarship number:	3 students per cycle (to be confirmed)
Application procedure:	Candidates have to apply in April-May 2012. Application forms are available by Mrs A Melotte (see contact list below). Application is open to students having applied, or not, at the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (see Section 1 above). One (1) scholarship is reserved to an EU student having applied at the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

Academic Scholarship

Academic Scholarship concerns excellent and good applicants.

They will pay 1200 € for the tuition fees (without health insurance) instead of 4500 or 9000 €.

Number of Scholarships: 3-4 students per cycle (to be confirmed)
