Overview
The Chevening Scholarship - Brunei programme for the academic year of 2012/13 is now open for applications. The programme funds full-time postgraduate study for one-year course at a UK university.
Applications are accepted in any discipline in line with the socio-economic development of Brunei, which include, but are not exclusive to Knowledge Economy and Economic Diversification-related studies; International Relations; Politics; Human Rights; Good Governance; Renewable Energy; Climate Change and Business and Islamic Finance.
The scholarship is not applicable for PhDs, undergraduate studies or professional courses (e.g. ACCA, RIBA, ICSA, Bar Vocational courses etc).
Eligibility requirements:
• Good honours degree
• Working experience at least 2 years
• Proof of professional achievements
• Fluent English (most UK Higher Education institutions require a minimum IELTS of 6.5 for admission into postgraduate courses).
• Academic fees (with the exception of business school programmes, where the fees element of the scholarship is capped at £12,000)
• Monthly living allowance
• A modest allowance to cover books and warm clothing
• A return economy airfare to the UK
• Gratis student visa

- Copies of relevant academic certificates and transcripts
- Two (2) letters of reference (both of which should be professional or academic)
- Copy of an offer letter from a UK university (if available)
- Completed medical declaration form (after interview)
The British High Commission will sift application forms and draw up a shortlist of candidates. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
