Overview
The 2010 Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Fellowship -- Environmental and policy solutions for the prevention of obesity and type 2 diabetes. The Dr. Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Center for Weight and Health at the University of California at Berkeley, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow, who will explore environmental solutions to the obesityepidemic.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will evaluate community-based initiatives, designed to support changes in nutrition and physical activity at the community level and will evaluate the implementation of current California legislation to improve school nutrition.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will develop skills in policy evaluation and community intervention research. The Dr. Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Center for Weight and Health (CWH) is an interdisciplinary research center, that provides leadership for the development of science-based solutions to weight-related health problems, with a focus on children and their families. The Center links academic researchers with community stakeholders, in order to effectively guide the Center’s translational research agenda. Each applicant must have a recent Ph.D., with backgrounds in Nutrition or Public Health; have completed doctoral training in fields related to Community Health, Prevention, Nutrition and Physical Activity and/or Public Policy; and, must have strengths in writing and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including SAS and SPSS.
Value of this fellowship: The salary for this position is $37,400 - $43,500 plus benefits.
