UK: Canon Collins Scholarships for African Students

Overview

Canon Collins Trust is proud to support southern Africa’s future leaders by providing scholarships for postgraduate study. Over the past 30 years we have supported over 3,000 exceptional scholars who are now making significant contributions to the development of the region in a wide range of fields including health, education, human rights and conservation.

Canon Collins Trust scholarships are for outstanding individuals who can demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to bringing about positive change.

The application process for UK scholarships for Masters courses beginning in September 2012 is now open. Canon Collins Trust is offering scholarships for study at the following universities:

King’s College, London
SOAS
University of Sussex
University of Edinburgh
University of Leeds
University of Sheffield

Please note that there will be no “open” scholarships as in previous years. We will only accept applications from individuals seeking to study at one of the above universities. These scholarships are for Masters study in any subject field. Applicants must apply to their chosen universities separately and awards are conditional on the applicant being offered a place at the relevant university.

What we offer

Full tuition, stipend, travel costs and other support whilst in the UK.


Are you eligible?


To apply for a scholarship under this programme you must:
  •  be a national of and resident in one of the following countries:
Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
  • be in possession of a good first degree or about to graduate in the year of application
  • have at least 2 years work experience in a relevant field.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their commitment to the development of their country and region.
