Overview
The 2010/11 Argentina Principal Exchange Program provides the opportunity for US and Argentine school principals to work together as a team on issues of mutual interest to their communities, schools and students. Exchanges may focus in the areas of personnel administration, school management, instruction, curriculum development, student affairs, and/or educational policy.
Applicants should be creative, self-reliant, flexible and able to maintain excellent relationships with faculty, staff, and students in Argentina. Applicants should have a sincere interest in learning from the experience of others and sharing their own best practices. They should also be prepared to make presentations about the United States before diverse audiences in Argentina.
Eligibility:
• US Citizenship
• Full time elementary, middle or secondary school principals
• Spanish is recommended, though not required
• Participate in a joint-program orientation in Washington, DC
• Host your administrative partner in your home community and school
• Attend orientations in Buenos Aires and Cordoba
• Participate fully on a three-week summer program
Length
The Argentina Principal Exchange Program includes an orientation in Washington, DC followed by hosting of an Argentine principal for three weeks. The following summer, US principals will attend a program orientation in Buenos Aires and Cordoba, then participate in the exchange with their program partner for three weeks during the Summer of 2011.

All travel and program expenses are supported by American Councils, through its grant with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US Department of State
