The Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art invites applicants for the FICA Research Fellowship 2009. The Fellowship is an annual award aimed at supporting researchers and writers working within the realm of Modern and Contemporary Indian Visual Arts. Writing on current topics is as integral a part of the contemporary art scene as the works themselves, and FICA wishes to encourage and support this community of practitioners. We welcome proposals which address issues in contemporary art practice, evolution, curation, documentation, art writing and related areas.
The recipient of the fellowship will receive a reward amount of Rs. 50,000/- and will have to submit the final report in 6 months. The recipient will also get to present their paper at an interactive forum in Delhi upon submission of the final paper. The deadline for submission of application is 1st Nov 2009.
REQUIREMENTS
• There is no age limit for the applicants.
• The applicant should be an Indian citizen, currently residing in India.
CONDITIONS FOR RESEARCH TOPIC
• The research paper can be a part of any other research work or an independent paper.
• The research topic should fall under the broad definition of Modern and Contemporary Indian Visual Art, and can include topics of inter-disciplinary nature.

• The completed application form.
• Current resume.
• A proposal (not more than 800 words) for your research, clearly outlining the purpose of your study. The title of your research paper should be included.
• An estimated budget with details of how the reward amount will be spent (include travel itinerary if necessary).
All material received will be the property of FICA and will not be returned.
Please do not print any of the material unless absolutely necessary. You may submit all details on CDs/DVDs in formats compatible with MS Windows.
