Overview
The Polytechnic of Turin (http://www.polito.it/) is one of the most prestigious technical-scientific institutions in Italy in the Engineering and Architecture fields. There are 2 Schools of Architecture, 4 Schools of Engineering and a Graduate School offering thirty Ph.D. programs (http://www.polito.it/ateneo/facolta/index.en.html).
Language Grantees will attend courses taught in English; the possibility of attending courses taught in Italian can be considered. In this case, proficient spoken and written Italian is required at the time of application. Language study begun after applying is considered insufficient.
Candidate profile Candidates at all degree levels are considered. Graduates and university students in Engineering and Architectural fields who wish to conduct thesis research and/or enroll in courses within degree programs offered in English language at the Polytechnic of Turin and doctoral students who wish to conduct research for their dissertation in any one of the departments of the Polytechnic will be considered.
Application Candidates who wish to conduct research are requested not to submit a letter of invitation from the Polytechnic of Turin. Applicants who are interested in enrolling in academic courses must register at http://apply.polito.it/ between December 2009/March 2010 and follow the enrollment procedure through the Italian diplomatic missions in the United States. Grant benefits The grant, funded by the Polytechnic of Turin with a contribution from the Italian Fulbright Commission, will include a financial contribution for nine months, a travel allowance towards the purchase of an international round-trip plane ticket, accommodation at one of the Polytechnic dormitories as well as passes for public transportation and public museums.
