Eligibility

• a first-class degree in computing, mathematics, engineering or physics
• strong numerical programming skills in C/C++
• knowledge and experience with algorithms for stochastic optimisation and network flow algorithms

Term of awards

Starting salary: £24,273, rising annually to £26,524


Responsibility

• developing algorithms and software in C/C++ for optimising repairable flow networks and application of the developed software to real oil and gas production networks
• preparing regular research reports and delivering presentations
• preparing teaching materials and delivering specialist lectures and software demonstrations as part of the curriculum
• collaboratively preparing proposals for research grant submissions and research papers disseminating results.
