Overview
Good research governance is a key factor in maintaining the University's position and reputation for high quality research. The Contracts, Governance and Ethics team within Research & Commercial services play an important part in ensuring that the University's research is compliant with external and internal regulations.
You will be expected to develop and operate systems to ensure good governance practice in the University's research activities. This will entail the further development and extension of existing processes for the approval and monitoring of research, particularly with a view to the provision of authoritative advice on, and ensuring compliance with, relevant legislation and regulatory standards and the University's policies and codes of practice. You will also receive, review and approve applications for the University to act as Sponsor for clinical research and for clinical trials.
A highly motivated person, used to working on their own initiative, is required to fill this demanding post. It is expected that you will have extensive experience as a researcher, and recent knowledge of research procedures in academia, industry or the NHS. In addition, experience of legal or regulatory affairs is highly desirable.
Term of award
Starting salary £36,532 to £43,622 per annum (potential progression on performance once in post to £49,096)
