Overview
Centre for Art, Architecture and Design (CAAD) supports and advances research across the range of art, design, architectural and media practices. Research in the Centre is concerned with the application of critical, theoretical and historical perspectives to these practices, in the recognition that art, design, architecture and media re-present social and cultural meanings and their potential transformation.
This project involves researching regional initiatives towards urban regeneration and their impact on one or more of the following:

Potential project themes are: public space and its social, cultural and economic considerations relating to a broader understanding of the city; the infrastructure of the urban environment; ‘brown field’ development; mixed use development; the ‘green wedge’; and the regional implications of funded research programmes for public space and the public realm.
