Overview PLANET Europe, a two-year integrated European Masters programme onEuropean spatial planning, environmental policies and regional development With the support of the Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Union, PLANET Europe is able to offer scholarships to talented students from within and outside the EU from September 2012 onwards. These scholarships cover travel, participation and subsistence costs for excellent applicants. If you wish to enroll in the PLANET Europe programme, you should meet the following requirements: If you do not fulfil these requirements you will not be admitted. Selection for PLANET Europe will be based on a uniform system, in which all applicants are scored on the basis of the following elements: PLANET Europe offers scholarships to talented students from within and outside the EU. These scholarships cover travel, participation and subsistence costs and are available for a limited number of selected students. For the 2012-2014 cohort, PLANET Europe anticipates to award a total of 9 Category A and 7 Category B student scholarships. For each selected Third-country student, the scholarship amounts to € 24,000 for a maximum of two years. Furthermore the student receives a contribution to travel, installation and any other costs up to a maximum of €8,000.-; a contribution made for costs of participation (including insurance coverage and tuition fees) to a maximum of € 8,584.- and a monthly allowance of €1,000.- per month. For each selected European student, the Erasmus Mundus scholarship amounts to € 12,000.- for a maximum of two years. Furthermore the student receives a contribution to travel, installation and any other type of costs to a maximum of €3,000.-; a contribution to participation costs (including insurance coverage) to a maximum of € 2,700.- and a monthly allowance of €500.- each month. With the support of the Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Union, PLANET Europe is currently able to offer scholarships to Third Country scholars*. The scholar scholarships are 1,200 EURO per week for each scholar (a week shall be counted as 4-7 consecutive calendar days). The minimum duration is 2 weeks and the maximum duration is 3 months. Hence, scholar scholarships can vary in size between 2,400 and 14,400 EUROS. As of 1 October 2011 it is possible to apply for the PLANET Europe Masters programme 2012-2014. In order to apply for the PLANET Europe Master programme, you will have to: Do not forget to attach the required documents both to your digital and hard copy application. For those students applying for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, the deadline for application is 1 December 2011. If we have not received the documents both in hard copy and digitally by then your application will not be reviewed. Students who are not applying for the scholarships, but still want apply for PLANET Europe, can do so until 10 February 2012 (for non-EU/EEA students) or 10 April 2012 (for EU/EEA students). Host universities
Students participating in 'Planet Europe: a joint Masters programme on European spatial planning, environmental policies and regional development' will get a unique view of international cooperation, by studying at the participating universities. They will graduate with first-hand experience of different European planning systems and practices.

Double Degree
If you successfully finish the PLANET Europe programme you will receive a double degree from the universities that you have attended. Depending on the specialisation you choose, you will get a Master of Science in Spatial Planning degree (60 European credits) or a Master of Science in Social and Political Sciences of the Environment degree (60 European credits) from Radboud University Nijmegen, as well as a Master of Science degree (120 European credits) from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola or a Masters in European Spatial Planning, Environmental Policies, and Regional Development degree (120 European credits) from Cardiff University.Admission requirements

Category A: Third country (i.e. non-European) students
Third-country nationals, who are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, are among the citizens from all other countries than the 27 EU Member States (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, the UK, Sweden, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain) and the EEA-EFTA states(Norway, Lichtenstein, Iceland) and who are not residents of any of the above countries, and who have not carried out their main activities (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years (since 28 February 2007) in any of the above countries.Category B: European students

Please note that the number of applications is limited to three Erasmus Mundus Master courses with a maximum per student. If you apply to more than three courses, then you will automatically be excluded from the selection for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.
