The scholarships, established on an initiative of the President of the University, cover all tuition and examining fees and course material costs.

The Programmes

MSc Human Resource Management and Development

The MSc in HRM/D is a unique distance learning programme, founded on the key development-oriented tenet that human resources are the most valuable asset that a nation and its constituent organisations possess, and that teaching, learning and research in this area can contribute directly to human and socio-economic development.

The programme is offered by the Management & Governance in Development Group in theInstitute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM) at SED, with staff members contributing to the University's Centre for Organisations in Development (COD).

For more information on the programme see: MSc International Development: Human Resource Management and Development (Distance Learning).

MSc Management and Information Systems: Change and Development

The MSc in M&IS develops the "hybrid" mix of management and information systems skills that we know from experience is essential to the successful and strategic application of information and communication technologies by today's organisations. It is designed to develop two groups of participants in developing and transitional economies: functional managers who wish to take greater control over, and make a more direct contribution to, change in their organisations via the development and implementation of information systems; and information systems professionals who wish to improve the success rate of the information systems they develop or use, and who may also wish to upgrade their management skills and knowledge.

The programme is offered by the Development Informatics Group in the Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM) at SED, with staff members contributing to the University's Centre for Development Informatics (CDI).

For more information on the programme see: MSc Management & Information Systems: Change and Development (Distance Learning).
