Overview
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position on an EPSRC funded research project entitled "Managing Uncertainty in Complex Models" (MUCM), and held jointly with the Universities of Sheffield, Aston, Southampton and Durham. This is a multi-disciplinary project concerned with quantifying and reducing uncertainty in the predictions of complex models across a wide range of application areas, including basic science, environmental science, engineering, technology, biosciences and economics.
Eligibility
You should have a PhD (or should expect to submit a thesis for PhD before 31st December 2010), preferably in Statistics or a related field. However, applicants are invited from a wide range of backgrounds, including machine learning and areas in which complex models are used, subject to having strong statistical skills.
Benefit: £31,711 - £38,391 per annum inclusive
