Overview
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is still in his/her home country before departure to Japan and is willing to pursue a master's or Ph.D. degree at the Graduate School of System Design and Management (SDM). Applicants for this scholarship should fill the designated application form and submit it to the Admissions Office. For this academic year, this scholarship will be awarded to one person.
Scholarship and Award
A recipient of this award will receive financial aid from Yoshida Scholarship Foundation (http://www.ysf.or.jp/en/indexe.html). The scholarship covers the costs of one round-trip air ticket (economy class air fare), tuition (maximum amount 2,500,000yen for 2 years (for the master’s program) or 3 years (for Ph.D. program)), a monthly stipend (150,000 yen), a housing allowance (at large city, max. 40,000 yen per month/ other city, max. 20,000 yen per month), and Family allowance (if spouse lives together in Japan and he/she has no source of income: 20,000 yen per month).
Conditions: (Read the following conditions carefully, item by item, and check the boxes below to confirm your understanding.)
- The scholarship applicant must be no more than 30 years of age on April 1, 2009 for the master’s program, and 35 years of age on April 1, 2009 for Ph.D. program.
- Nationality is limited to countries of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Armenia, Yemen, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and African countries only.
Note: The scholarship does NOT cover all of the SDM tuition and fees. For SDM master’s program, the fees to be paid to Keio University, is 3,965,100 yen (first year: 2,137,600 yen, second year: 1,827,500 yen). For SDM Ph.D. program, the fees to be paid to Keio University, is around 3,542,600 yen (first year: 1,387,600 yen, second year: 1,077,500 yen, third year: not be decided). This means you have to prepare around 1,500,000 yen (for master’s) or 1,100,000yen (for Ph.D.) which is expense beyond the scholarship grant for your study at SDM.
