Overview
The Yale Climate and Energy Institute (YCEI website: http://www.climate.yale.edu/) announces an annual competition for up to five Postdoctoral Fellowships. Applicants are sought with research interests in climate change and energy needs across the full range of disciplines in the natural sciences, engineering and social sciences. Each of these postdoctoral associate positions is awarded for one year with an option to renew for a second year subject to adequate progress and availability of funding.
Value of this fellowship
The position provides a stipend ($50,000/yr), base research funds (see below), plus health care benefits and nominal expenses for relocation.
How to apply
Applicants need to contact a faculty sponsor in any of the Yale departments participating in the YCEI to develop potential research projects. The applicant should then submit a short (2-3 page) statement of research interests and proposed work that also indicates the Yale faculty sponsor, along with a curriculum vita and list of publications. The work statement should include proposed research costs not to exceed $10,000. Applicants should also arrange for three reference letters to be sent directly to the YCEI. The deadline for receipt of all application materials is January 2, 2010, and decisions will be announced by February 28, 2010. Successful candidates are expected to begin their program at Yale between July 1 and December 31, 2010.
