Overview
The Office of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. State Department is offering the opportunity for student leaders in their sophomore or junior year of high school to participate in an exchange program with the U.S. for three weeks that will broaden their knowledge of U.S. culture, society and educational system.
The requirements for the program are:
1.To be between 16-18 years of age when applying.
2.To have lack of economic resources.
3.To have a sustained high level of academic achievement.
4.To have demonstrated leadership skills through his/her commitment to the community or personal projects.
5.Preferable to have basic computer and Internet skills.
6.Some English language knowledge.
Please, read the following instructions before filling out the application:
1.Answer all questions. If a question does not have an answer, write N/C.
2.You must submit with the application form:
•Copy of school grades
•Copy of birth certificate
•Copy of citizen id. In case of not having a citizen id, you will need to provide a copy of the request submitted.
•Two recent photos (passport size).
•Curriculum vitae detailing your achievements
•Two recommendation letters filled out by your supervisors or person in charge of the extracurricular activity to which you belong Download here
•Parents or legal guardian authorization.
•Copy of each of the parents’ citizen ID
IMPORTANT: Do not send any originals of personal documents. All documents submitted will become property of the Youth Ambassadors Program/CIED Georgetown university and will not be returned.
The program is being managed in association with Georgetown University’s Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED).
