Dr Cheng Yu Tung Fellowships at the University of Hong Kong

Overview

The general regulations on the Dr Cheng Yu Tung Fellowships are available on the website of the
Medical Faculty (http://www.hku.hk/facmed/04research_fellow_drcheng.htm). Normally up to 2 Fellowships for Visiting Professors are awarded each year.


Regulations

1. The objective of the Fellowships is to promote academic and expertise exchange. It provides support for qualified pre-clinical or clinical academics at professorial level from tertiary institutions in the Mainland to undertake clinical attachment, management or research training in the Medical Faculty. The Fellowships supports a 2-week visit to Hong Kong.
2. Candidates should be nominated by our Faculty members.
3. A Fellowship award is intended to provide support for the individual Fellow only and shall carry the following emoluments (subject to adjustment at the discretion of the Committee of Management):



a. $12,000 (honorarium);
b. $3,500 (round-trip economy airfare from home institution to Hong Kong); and
c. $1,000 per month (travelling allowance, on a pro-rata basis according to the period
of visit, will be provided only for those Fellows who stay in the accommodation
provided by the Donor in Kowloon City).

Awardees may stay in the basic type of accommodation arranged by the Donor in
Kowloon City. Alternatively, they have the option to arrange for their own
accommodation in Hong Kong.
4. The deadline for application is June 30 each year.
