Overview
The Moroccan Government, in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Liberia, has made available 35 scholarships in public Moroccan institutions of higher education for undergraduate and professional degrees beginning the 2011/2012 academic school year.
Scholarships are for undergraduate and professional degrees in Morocco. Their aim is to give a unique opportunity to Liberians to strengthen their skills and expose them to best practices and training in Morocco.
*NOTE: Students will be required to learn the French language, and studies will be conducted in French.
Bachelor’s Degrees
Mathematics; Computer Science; Physics; Chemistry; Biology; Geology; Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Architecture
Agronomy and Plant Breeding; Rural Economy; Plant Protection; Animal Production; Agricultural Extension; Science and Techniques in Fruit Production; Earth Sciences and the Universe
Professional Degrees
General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine
Applicants must:
- Be Liberian nationals;
- Have graduated in 2011 from secondary school or an undergraduate program in the sciences;
- Possess undergraduate qualifications with a minimum 3.0 GPA (if applying for a professional degree);
- Possess secondary school average of “B” above (if applying for an undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree);
- Have passed the WAEC with strong science marks;
- Be between 19–23 years old.
Eligible Liberian nationals must forward TWO COPIES of the following documents for consideration:
- Completed application form;
- An application letter by the candidate in which s/he mentions in order of preference courses and schools, clearly stating their coordinates (address, phone number, email);
- Certified photocopy of high school transcript (for Bachelor’s degree applicants only);
- Certified photocopy of high school diploma (for Bachelor’s degree applicants only);
- WAEC Certificate (for Bachelor’s degree applicants only);
- Photocopy of birth certificate;
- Photocopy of VALID passport;
- An UPDATED medical certificate issued by a recognized public health institution attesting to the physical fitness of the applicant and certifying that s/he is not suffering from any contagious or acute diseases or carrying a pandemic;
- Two recent (identical) passport photos in color with the full name and nationality of the candidate written at the back of each photo;
- A one to two page summary of the reasons for wishing to undertake training in Morocco and how this training will benefit Liberia;
- CV (with phone number and e‐mail address clearly listed);
- Two letters of recommendation (one professional or personal and one academic);
- Candidates for professional degrees must submit, in addition to the above documents, two certified copies of their university diploma and transcript, as well as a copy of a graduation thesis/dissertation paper (if applicable).
Failure to complete the application requirements and submit all documentation
requested BY THE DEADLINE will lead to automatic disqualification.
