The University of Canberra is seeking a dynamic, innovative person to conduct research into water quality and ecological responses to climate change in freshwater systems. The appointee will be required to develop Bayesian network models to link projected water quality and quantity changes with ecosystem changes with a particular focus on the probability of adverse biological effects.
The Bayesian network models will capture our existing knowledge of the relationships between environmental conditions and ecological response. The knowledge used to construct the Bayesian network will come from a combination of local studies, expert opinion, strategically collected data and published studies. The Bayesian network models will be used to inform adaptation initiatives for water security and the conservation of biodiversity. Copies of the relevant research proposal leading to the funding of this project are available on request.
The appointee will work within an interdisciplinary team of highly motivated academics, postdoctoral fellows and lab technician in a very friendly working environment.
