LANGUAGE TESTS IN ENGLISH EXEMPTIONS The following applicants may be exempted from submitting formal test evidence: * Category A: students who come from a country other than an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries Application deadline is January 15. Application fee for the whole Course is 900 SEK You must submit the following documents once you have completed your online application: Copies and scanned documents supporting your application must be stamped and signed by the issuing institution, or a notary public. If this is not done, your application will not be processed. Documents should be in the original language, and in officially certified translations into Swedish, English, French or German, if the original documents are in a language other than these or the Scandinavian languages. Sort the documents in the same order as stated in this list and send them in one envelope to: University Studies in Sweden Only send one set of documents. Avoid using staplers, paper clips, and documents printed on both sides. There are two steps to the application procedure: Here is a short guide how to proceed with the online registration: For the Erasmus Mundus (EM) scholarships the Consortium performs a ranking of all applicants within Category A and B respectively. The first ten applicants from Category A and first seven applicants from Category B with the highest ranks will receive the EM scholarships. Other eligible applicants will be admitted to the Course without the EM scholarship. They will be placed in reserve with the possibility to receive the EM scholarship in case of drop outs of the EM scholarship holders. The final rank will be calculated on the base of the achieved points using the four criteria. The applicants are encouraged to reflect all their activities in order to receive as high of a rank as possible.
Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Space Science and Technology – SpaceMaster, opens
opportunities for all highly qualified students around the world to study space science and technology at an advanced level at six excellent European and two leading third-country universities in a research-oriented environment. The educational cooperation is supported by the associated scientific and industrial organisations. This provides direct contacts with professional research and business.
During two years of full-time studies the students obtain cross-disciplinary theoretical knowledge andpractical skills by using the available scientific facilities such as radar systems, stratospheric balloons,robots, rockets and satellites. Specially organised study visits to European space companies help thestudents to establish direct contacts with space industry.
Degrees Awarded
The Master Degree is achieved after successful accomplishment of 120 ECTS. The student who fulfil the requirements for the Master Degree receive a double Master Diploma, i.e. a Diploma certificate from Luleå University of Technology and a Diploma certificate from the second European partner university.

Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree or Swedish Kandidatexamen with a minimum of 180 ECTS.
Areas: physics (space, plasma, nuclear, particle, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics), space science, planetology, astronomy, atmospheric science, remote sensing, numerical simulations, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, space engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics, automation, communication, electronics, mechatronics, control theory.
A minimum of 22.5 ECTS in mathematics at the university level is required.English language requirements
For applicants who have not studied in Swedish upper secondary education, skills in English are normally attested to by means of an international language test. TEOFL Paper-based: Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575
Internet-based: Score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test and a total score of 90IELTS Minimum score of 6,5, no band lower than 5,5 Cambridge ESOL Certificate of Proficiency in English/CPE or Certificate in Advanced English/CAE Erasmus Mundus Scholarships
Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be awarded to students and scholars for each of the five Rounds of SpaceMaster beginning 2010-2014. The scholarships are available for EU and non-EU students. The number of scholarships for each Round will be defined by the EU Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
