World Politics Visiting Fellowship at Princeton University

Overview

The Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) invites applications for a World Politics visiting scholar for the 2012–13 academic year. The position is sponsored by the Institute’s scholarly journal World Politics and is intended to foster research and writing suitable for publication in the journal. Applicants should be engaged in cutting-edge empirical or theoretical work in the fields of comparative politics or international relations and preferably hold an ongoing position at a university or research institution. This position is ideally meant for a scholar on sabbatical leave from her/his home institution; depending on the successful candidate’s salary, the fellowship could provide up to one-half of the scholar’s academic year salary, subject to a cap that will be determined. Visiting scholars are expected to be in residence at PIIRS for the entire academic year.

Applications must include:

(1) a cover letter with an indication of (and justification for) the level of support requested;
(2) a statement of research plans;
(3) a current curriculum vitae;
(4) names and email addresses of two persons who can provide confidential letters of recommendation; and
(5) one writing sample (article- or chapter-length).

The deadline for applications is December 15, 2011.

Further questions about this position may be directed to Rebecca Aguas at raguas@princeton.edu.

Princeton University is an equal opportunity employer and complies with applicable EEO and affirmative action regulations.
