Overview
The Heller School for Social Policy and Management announces a full tuition scholarship for the two-year Master of Arts Program in Sustainable Development. Nominations are encouraged from anti-poverty and social change organizations. Self-nominations are accepted.
Target Candidates
This scholarship competition is open to residents of Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Illinois, or candidates with a demonstrated commitment to the development of the Mississippi Delta Region. Graduates of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and women are especially encouraged to apply.
The Delta Community Development Scholar will join early to mid-career professionals from over 40 countries for an interdisciplinary study of development and social change emphasizing poverty reduction, gender, human rights, environmental conservation, and project planning and management.
Value of This Scholarship
The Delta Community Development Scholar will receive full tuition and fees at Brandeis. Living expenses are not included in the Scholarship. The Scholarship begins in late
August 2010.
Nominators may mail, fax (781-736-2774), or email (HellerAdmissions@Brandeis.edu) a letter of nomination to the Admissions Office.
Application Requirements
Applications (to be submitted by the applicant) should include:
• A letter of Interest in the Mississippi Delta Scholarship
• A completed Application Form
• A Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
• A detailed Statement of Purpose describing career objectives and work experience
• Three original letters of recommendation (at least one professional and one academic) on official letterhead sent directly to the Admissions Office from the recommenders. These letters must be accompanied by a Brandeis University Recommendation Form.
• Original or certified true copies of transcripts from all university-level studies, sent directly to the Admissions office from each university. Transcripts in languages other than English must be accompanied by an official English translation.
• An official TOEFL or IELTS score report is required for all international applicants.
