Overview
The Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation is a research centre of Oxford University. It is based at Saïd Business School and has close links with both the Law Faculty and Economics Department of Oxford University. Established in 2006 by a £5 million donation from the 100 Group, it is also in receipt of a major grant from the ESRC of £2.5 million. It has ten research staff, including Professor Michael Devereux, Director and Professor Clemens Fuest, Research Director. Six Programme Directors and over forty International Research Fellows, who visit as part of a rolling programme, add to the research activity of the centre.
The centre aims to promote effective policies for the taxation of business and as such undertakes and publishes multidisciplinary research into the aims, practice and consequences of taxes which affect business. Although it engages in debate on specific policy issues, the main focus of the research is long-term, fundamental issues in business taxation. The centre wishes to recruit two research fellows from grade 6 to grade 8. The successful applicants will be expected to carry out research into business taxation under the guidance of the centre's Director, Professor Michael Devereux, and other senior staff. These positions are available for a fixed-term contract for a period of three years.
Applicants who would need a work visa if appointed to the post are asked to note that under the UK's new points-based migration system they will need to demonstrate that they have sufficient points.
