Overview
The Integration of Immigrants Masterate Scholarship is offered to encourage research on international migration at Massey University. Specifically, it is intended that the applicant's thesis focus on one of these subject areas: ethnic precincts; lifestyle migration or migrant networks and on migrants from one or more of the following source countries: China, Korea, India, the United Kingdom or South Africa.
Eligible Candidates
1. New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents
2. Enrolled or eligible to enrol full-time for the thesis research component of their Masters Degree at Massey University
3. A full-time candidate will be expected to work 40 - 50 hours per week on their Masterate qualification
4. In making this award, the selection committee shall give consideration to the applicant's academic record, referee's reports and the suitability of the applicant's research proposal which must be related to the areas mentioned above
Term:
The Integration of Immigrants Masterate scholarship shall be tenable at Massey University for a maximum period of 12 months devoted to full-time research.
Value: The value of the Masterate Scholarship will be $15,000. The scholarship will be paid in four quarterly instalments, the last of which is contingent on the applicant producing a summary report of their research which will be published by the Integration of Immigrants Programme as a working paper.
Report:
The successful applicant will be required to produce a summary report of their research which will be published by the Integration of Immigrants Programme as a working paper.
