Fulbright Egyptian Scholar Program

Overview

Fulbright Egyptian Scholar Program provides opportunities for Egyptian post-doctoral faculty members, professionals, and independent scholars to conduct research at American institutions. Grant duration ranges from three to nine months.

ELIGIBLE FIELDS: ALL fields are eligible with the EXCEPTION of medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine.

GRANT TYPES:

· Arts Management Grants: Professionals in arts management and administration to pursue individual and/or structured programs of study designed to enhance their managerial capabilities
· Lecturing/Research Grants at Selected American Universities: For scholars in the fields of: Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Arabic World History, Culture and Language to lecture and conduct research at selected American institutions. Awards are jointly funded by the Commission and its partner institutions.
· Research Grants: For scholars in the humanities, sciences, or social sciences to conduct research at American institutions.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

· Egyptian citizenship; holders of U.S. green cards and/or passports are ineligible
· Ph.D., except for the Arts Management grants
· College or university teaching experience at the level and in the field of the proposed lecturing activity as specified in the award description at the time of application
· Excellent command of English


Important Note for Fulbright alumni: maximum number of basic Fulbright grants is two. Short-term grant (two months or less) shall count as ½ of a basic Fulbright grant.

GRANT BENEFITS:

· Stipend
· Books and supplies and excess baggage allowances
· Medical insurance

Note: International travel is normally provided by grantee’s home institution.
