Overview
VU Graduate School of Economics and Business is offering talented candidates the unique opportunity to win 1 of the 2 scholarships for taking part in our highly renowned Master's programme STREEM.
Two scholarships will be awarded for this programme in the academic year 2011/2012. The scholarship will be open to high potential candidates from all nationalities who are interested in pursuing a world class graduate education in the fields of Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics. Two scholarships valued at €10,000 each are offered for outstanding candidates who have been admitted to our Master's programme in Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics. VU Graduate School of Economics will support these successful candidates for 1 year of studies. The winner is responsible for all other expenses incurred during his/her study at VU University Amsterdam (e.g. housing, course materials and living expenses).
Criteria of Eligibility
-Only applicants with at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited foreign university.
-Candidates must have a non-Dutch nationality and be normally resident outside the Netherlands.
-The general criteria for selection are excellence, motivation and extracurricular activities.
-You need admission to the Master's programmes of VU Graduate School of Economics and Business. For the general requirements and application procedure to VU University Amsterdam see Practical information
-Do not obtain any funding/scholarship from other organizations/institutes in the academic year 2011/2012
-Be fluent in English and have a more than satisfactory score in an English proficiency test as IELTS or TOEFL
-Cumulative Grade Point Average (or GPA) of at least 80
Regulations and Application Procedures
To apply for the scholarship, and for the programme itself, all candidates must apply through our online application system > www.admission.vu.nl, by following the under mentioned steps (deadline for application: 1 April 2011):
Apply for admission to the MSc programme STREEM at VU Graduate School of Economics and Business
Upload all required applications documents as mentioned on our website (please check: www.feweb.vu.nl/application)
On the page “scholarships” mention that you will apply for the “STREEM scholarship” and upload your personally written motivation letter (Why you should be granted a scholarship, including your career perspective) or email the motivation letter to masterprogramme@feweb.vu.nl.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Master Coordinator and admission officer of the Master programme who will look at the strengths and capabilities of the candidates and consider their suitability for the programme. Final results will be announced by the end of April 2011. No scholarship will be confirmed until a university place has been officially accepted by the candidate. The winner has 2 weeks after the allocation of the scholarship to secure the university offer.
