Overview
University of Edinburgh - Graduate School of History, Classics and Archaeology. The University has three Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) awards available for students in doctoral programmes in History and Archaeology.
Awards
There are two doctoral awards available in History and one doctoral award available in Archaeology.
These awards cover tuition fees for a maximum of three years' tuition fees at the Home/EU rate, as well as an annual maintenance stipend of about £13,300, payable in equal monthly instalments, for a maximum of three years.
Eligibility
These awards are for Home/UK applicants.
EU students may apply but for normally only for tuition fees only. Please consult the AHRC website for their Guide to Student Eligibility (www.ahrc.ac.uk ).
Overseas students are not eligible to apply for these awards.
Applicants for these awards must have a study application in process. Successful applicants are likely to hold a UK first class honours undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant field and have demonstrated an equivalent level of high academic achievement in a master's degree in a relevant field.
Applying
Completed application forms must be received by Scholarships and Student Funding Services no later than 1 February 2011.
