Overview
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program offers full scholarships for a semester or an academic year of study in the U.S. to undergraduate students from Laos for the 2011-2012 academic year. Scholarships will be available in all academic fields of study. The goal of the program is to provide a diverse group of emerging student leaders, from non-elite and under-represented groups in East Asia, with a substantive exchange experience at a U.S. college or university.
Eligibility:
• Lao citizen, between 18 and 24 years old (must be 18 upon arrival in the U.S. or 24 or younger at time of application);
• Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (must have completed first year and must have at least one semester or term to complete upon return); and
• Demonstrated leadership through academic work, community service, and extracurricular activities.
