Post Doc within Heterogeneous Computational Environments

Overview

One Post Doc position is offered at the Department of Computer and Information Science, Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology within the area of High Performance Computing - Heterogeneous Computational Environment, including many-core systems with GPUs (Graphical Processing Units). The position is for 2 years.

Description

This position focuses on addressing some of the computer science related issues relating to developing a programming environment for harnessing the computational power of modern heterogeneous many-core CPU systems including GPUs. In particular, we believe the integration of parallel programming tools with graphics and visualization techniques, has enormous potential for exciting research.

Benefits

The appointment is at code 1352, salary level 57-76 in the national salary scheme, gross NOK 448 200-643 500 per annum, of which 2% is deducted for the State Pension scheme. Starting salary expected to be at level 57. The salary might be adjusted, after negotiation with the employer, to reflect applicant’s experience

Eligible Candidates

A PhD in Computer Science and Engineering is required. It is desirable that the candidate has experience with MPI, OpenMP, Pthreads and CUDA / OpenCL as well as familiarity with OpenGL. Knowledge of computational methods related to petroleum engineering and/or medicine is also of benefit.
