Overview
The EHA – ISTH Joint Fellowship is intended to support the study of physiology of coagulation, bleeding or thrombosis.
Funding
The award amount shall be EUR 36.000 per year for a maximum of 2 years.
Guidelines
- Applicants should be MDs or PhDs and members of either EHA or ISTH.
- Applicants should have a mentor working in the field of the application. Basic research, translational and clinical projects will be considered.
- Applicants located within and outside of Europe are eligible to apply. Mobility will be positively considered.
- Awardees shall submit his/her study results for presentation at the annual congress of EHA and/or ISTH.
Reporting
An interim report highlighting the project’s progress and summarizing the use of funds is required at the end of the first year. A final report highlighting the project’s results and summarizing the use of funds is required at the end of the second year.
Awardees are required to respond to EHA’s and ISTH’s requests for information related to their career progress following the active grant.

1. A scientific research proposal, in English and no more than 6 pages, including:
-Background description of the proposed project
-Specific aims of the project and relevance to the call for applications
-Plan of investigation and timeline
-Relevant references
-Specification and description of the institute, laboratory and mentor for the -development of the project
2. Budget
3. A biographical sketch (CV) of the research scientist and mentor
4. A signed letter of agreement between the applicant and mentor
5. A signed letter of agreement from the applicant’s institute stating that the award funds will be accepted and distributed to the applicant for purposes of his/her project accordingly.
