We are delighted to announce that under the Block Grant Partnership scheme we are able to offer the following PhD studentships in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures for postgraduate study beginning in September 2010.
• French & Francophone Studies: 1 PhD award
• German Studies: 1 PhD award
Value of this studentship
AHRC/BGP awards cover fees plus maintenance. In 2009-2010, maintenance levels are £13,290 for PhD students. UK students who satisfy certain residency criteria are eligible to apply for full awards covering fees and maintenance. Students from EU countries other than the UK who satisfy certain residency criteria are eligible to apply for fees-only awards. Tuition fees can be paid either for full or part-time study. Part-time students receive maintenance at a lower level: £7,670 pa for PhD students.
Eligible Candidate
To be eligible to apply for AHRC funding, you must be accepted by the University of Nottingham so make sure you are holding a place before you enquire about the AHRC application process.
How to apply
Application forms are available from the Graduate School see: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/gradschool/ahrc/. The deadline for applications to the University is 1 March 2010 but potential students should be aware that in order to meet this deadline they should be working on their application, in consultation with the relevant Department, by early February 2010 at the latest. Please quote ref. ARTS/33.
