Overview
You will join a project to develop comprehensive finite element models capable of simulating various deformation and failure modes relating to composite features of FMLs (Fibre Metal Laminates) subjected to extreme loading (blast, impact) conditions.
You should have a PhD in an engineering discipline (preferably computational mechanics, mechanical engineering or civil engineering) and research experience in numerical modelling through user-defined subroutines (ABAQUS, AUTO-DYNA or other) or equivalent experience. You should be a self-motivated and independent researcher and preferably have postdoctoral research experience. You should be very good at mathematics and computer programming.
The post is available for 3 years.
