The Centre for European & International Studies Research is the UK’s largest interdisciplinary centre for European Studies, achieving first place in Research Fortnight’s ranking of Research Power based on the RAE2008 results. It embraces disciplines including Area studies, European Studies, Politics, Linguistics, Sociolinguistics and Translation, History, sociology and Women's and Gender Studies. Value of this studentship
Bursaries include payment of fees, a maintenance stipend (£13,290 in 2009-10) and an allowance for fieldwork. The bursary agreement includes a requirement to undertake up to 6 hours teaching per week during each semester.

Eligibility Requirements
UK/EU Applicants for Postgraduate Research Bursaries should have at least a good upper second class honours degree or equivalent and have or be completing a masters degrees in a relevant field. We regret that these bursaries are not open to International applicants due to funding constraints.
