Overview
Warwick Graduate School is delighted to offer a number of Warwick Postgraduate Research scholarships, which include:
- The payment of your academic fees at the Home/EU rate (£3,390 for full-time students in 2009/10)
- A maintenance grant in line with the UK Research Council standard stipend (£13,290 for full-time award holders in 2009/10)
- Students and applicants wishing to apply for an AHRC doctoral award should apply to the WPRS competition and will automatically be considered for both competitions.
Applications received from
Applicants or students currently enrolled on a three-year full-time PhD or MPhil/PhD (in the case of the Faculties of Arts, Medicine and Social Studies), at the University of Warwick. Students who are currently studying on a PhD programme can only apply in the first year of their registration.
Applicants must have obtained or be expected to obtain at least an upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution of higher education before 31 July 2010.

Applications are open to students from all disciplines currently represented at the University of Warwick.
Application deadline
The first round of the competition for awards starting in 2010/11 which opened on 1st November 2009 has now closed. The second round of applications will open on 1st February 2010. Applicants are only entitled to apply for one round of the competition, and awards available are distributed evenly across both rounds.
The online application form will be available at http://go.warwick.ac.uk/pgsapply from 1st February 2010.
Please ensure you have your University application number (7 digits) at hand when starting your application.
If you would like to be notified by email when Round 2 of this competition opens, please sign up to the mailing list.
Please note that you will receive an email informing you that you have been withdrawn from the mailing list as soon as the next application round opens. Under no circumstance will this impact on the status of your application.
Candidates who apply during Round 2 of the competition will also need to send 2 references and a copy of their transcript to the Graduate School by 28 February 2010. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the selection panel. Candidates may use the reference forms below or ask their referees to provide references on letter headed paper.
