Overview
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the National Research Foundation of South Korea, Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (NRF KOSEF). The programme gives South Korean researchers the opportunity of a short stay in the Netherlands and Dutch researchers the chance to visit South Korea. The programme also helps to fund joint seminars held in South Korea or the Netherlands.
The aim of this cooperation programme is to promote contact between Dutch and South Korean researchers in the natural sciences (i.e. all sciences except the social sciences and the humanities).
Who can apply
Highly qualified and experienced researchers with a permanent contract of employment at one of the Dutch universities, KNAW institutes or NWO research institutes, NKI or MPI Nijmegen. The fields of study referred to above are elegible.
What can be applied for
International travel costs, and local travel and subsistence costs for a stay in South Korea of between 2 weeks and 3 months can be applied for.
For a bilateral joint seminar a contribution to the costs can be requested.
When can be applied
Applications can be submitted continuously. Decisions on an application take three to six months.
Selection Criteria
Exchange of Researchers
- scientific quality, originality and relevance;
- quality of the research teams.
Bilateral joint seminars
- scientific relevance;
- quality of the researchers involved;
- effects of the seminar on e.g. the cooperation between Dutch and South Korean researchers.
