Denmark: Danish Ministry of Education Scholarship Scheme for highly qualified non‐EU students

Overview

Denmark warmly welcomes highly qualified and motivated students from all over the world. A number of scholarships are therefore offered each year by the Danish Ministry of Education to fund students from countries outside the European Union/ European Economic Area. Scholarships for students from outside the EU/EEA for studies at Academies of Professional Higher Education and University Colleges are administered by the individual institutions.

The scholarship will be available to a limited number of applicants.

Size of the grant: 4,100 EUR per year (50 % of the tuition fee for 2010/11)
Period of the grant: 1 year
Beneficiaries must reapply to get an extension of their grant for the
second year of study. The extension will only be granted if the student
achieves satisfactory results during the first year.
Application deadline: 1 May
Publication of results: 1 June

Present 1st‐year students: Max one scholarship per international programme may be granted to a qualified applicant to cover half the tuition fee of the second year.

Requirements: Applicants must

• be a citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA)
• not have permanent residence in an EU or EEA country
• not be studying in Denmark through an exchange program or any other study agreement which is waiving the tuition fee
• have shown good academic results from former studies or passed exams
• have passed an English language test, TOEFL paper‐based with a score of min. 6.0 or other recognized tests with a corresponding score

Dania is appointed by the Ministry of Education to find the most qualified students among its applicants. We will therefore base our selection mainly on your academic record, although other factors such as relevant work experience may also be considered.

To be considered for the scholarship applicants must:
