Overview
A post doc position with full-time participation in the ANR-funded project "Histidinol dehydrogenase: A novel therapeutic target against the etiologic agents of brucellosis and tuberculosis" will be available for a duration of two years.
Program Description
The candidate will have a PhD degree in the relevant fields of medicinal chemistry with a solid experience in microbiology. He will participate in the synthesis and characterization of new enzyme inhibitors with improved membrane permeability as well as in the study of inhibitor activity on the purified target enzyme and on live extra- and intracellular bacteria.
The candidate's research activities will be at the interface between the two partner groups in bacteriology and medicinal chemistry of Dr S. Köhler at the CPBS (http://www.cpbs.cnrs.fr) and Dr J.-Y. Winum at the IBMM (http://www.ibmm.univ-montp1.fr) in Montpellier/France.
Position will be available starting September 1st 2010.
Salary will be determined by the CNRS administration according to the qualification of the candidate.
