Overview
The Department of Energy Science (DOES) was founded at the Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, as a part of the World Class University (WCU) program funded by the Korean Government. The faculty includes the several world-renown overseas scholars, and plans to have about 90 graduate students every year. Interdisciplinary research and dynamic academic environment is the core of our approach.
Research and Education
DOES welcomes the graduate student candidates who have passion to conduct cutting edge research and make breakthroughs in energy sciences, proposing solid solutions for the global energy crisis. Our department nurtures comprehensive education and research on power generation, storage, conversion/efficiency of energy, and socioeconomic system for efficient distribution. The detailed fields of the research cover:
Solar cell/Fuel cell, Concentrating solar energy, Energy amplifier,
Battery/Suppercapacitor/ Hybrid capacitor, Hydrogen storage, Electrolytes, Nanomaterials for energy harvest, Nanocomposites: CNT/Metal, CNT/Polymer, Hybrid Tehrmoelectric cell, Complestentwork/Smart grid
Unlike other courses in Korea, DOES provides all English speaking lectures and invited seminars covering various topics in different research fields will be arranged weekly by outside specialists.
