Research Assistant for study “Investigating the biomechanics of the spine and nerve movement for people with back pain and osteoporosis”
Salary £22879 to £26523 pa, pro rata – Grade 5
We are looking for a research assistant to support a research study which is aimed at investigating the biomechanics of the spine and nerve movement for people with back pain and osteoporosis.
You will work closely with the principal investigator (Dr Gary Shum) and co-investigators (Professor Jon Marsden and Dr Alan Hough) from the School of Health Professions.
The post is based at the Peninsula Allied Health Centre of the School of Health Professions at the University of Plymouth. You will assume responsibility for the day to day organisation and data collection of this research study, under the supervision of experienced academic staff.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified graduates in a relevant area e.g. Physiotherapy, Sport Science, Engineering, with good interpersonal skills, and good organisational and communication skills.
This is a part-time position working 15 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for 34 weeks to start on the week of 16 August 2010.
Interviews for this position will be held the week beginning 19 July 2010. Clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau will be required for this position.
