Fulbright Senior Specialist Program for Taiwan

Overview

Upon approval of a request from a degree granting academic institution outside the U.S., a senior U.S. scholar or professional will be available at the inviting institution for a period of two to six weeks. Possible activities include:

•Conducting needs assessments, surveys, institutional or programmatic research
•Taking part in specialized academic programs and conferences
•Consulting with administrators and instructors of post-secondary, degree granting academic institutions on faculty development
•Presenting lectures at graduate and undergraduate levels
•Participating in or leading seminars or workshops at overseas academic institutions
•Developing academic curricula or educational materials
•Conducting teacher-training programs at the degree granting level

COST:

Cost of the Fulbright Senior Specialist Program will be shared by the local host institution and the Fulbright Program. The Fulbright Program office in Washington will provide international travel for the scholar, as well as a $200 per day honorarium. The host institution is responsible for the cost of housing, meals and any necessary, program related, in-country transportation. In-country costs may be supplied b the host institution as in-kind services and/or monies paid directly to the grantee. Note that in-country transportation refers to transportation once the Specialist has arrived in the city of the activity, and not to flights taken as part of the international travel.

Requests must be submitted at least 3 months prior to proposed project start date.
