Hakuho Japanese Language Research Fellowship Program

Overview

The Hakuho Japanese Language Research Fellowship Program invites leading international researchers of the Japanese language and Japanese language instruction to Japan for residential research, with the aim of further developing and practicalizing research in these fields both in Japan and overseas, and enhancing the fundamentals of the research.

Applicants to this program must satisfy all of the following qualifications:
(1) Be engaged in research into the Japanese language or Japanese language instruction.
(2) Be university professors or associate professors with outstanding results in research, or other persons with equivalent research backgrounds.

(4) Be able to come to Japan alone, in principle. (As the grant is intended for researchers, the Foundation does not permit accompanying family members in principle, and is unable to offer assistance in such cases.)
